Fronted by acclaimed jazz vocalist-turned-folk artist Diane Hubka and veteran guitarist/songwriter Rick Mayock, the band also features Joe Caccavo (bass, guitar, vocals) and Irv “Skeeter G” Gershenz (drums, vocals). Together, they bring Hubka’s Appalachian folk roots and Mayock’s rock & blues background into a sound that feels timeless yet vibrant. - Grateful Web 10/25

The moon is smiling down on Diane Hubka & The Sun Canyon Band. The title track for their second album is inspired by moonlit scenes where the band found its beginnings, near the site of the original Tower Records on Sunset Boulevard, where a street named Larrabee climbs up into the Hollywood Hills and offers sparkling views of Los Angeles. Traces of the legendary music scene in nearby Laurel Canyon can be heard in the selections of folk, swing, rock and roll, blues, Americana, and plenty of surprises. Diane Hubka’s warm and reassuring vocals, along with bandmates Rick Mayock, Joe Caccavo, Irv “Skeeter G” Gershenz, and a few guest artists including guitar virtuoso Albert Lee, have given us twelve new tracks including six originals. They continue the successes of their first album, “You Never Can Tell”, which topped the Roots Music charts, landing at #4 in 2023 (and remaining in the top 20 as of this pressing in 2025). This new album takes you on an enchanting musical journey from wishing wells to mission bells, through lonely starless streets to hopeful sunlit canyons. C’mon and meet us at Sun Canyon, put on your dancing shoes, and enjoy the ride!
